Job Title: Charity Auditor and Accountant Senior

Responsible to: The Directors

The job: For this role, you will need to be well organized and client-focused, with great communication skills, strong attention to details, the ability to work well as part of a team, conduct meetings with clients, and have a flexible and adaptable approach. The salary: The salary will be dependent on experience.

Salaries are paid monthly in arrears through the BACS System directly into the bank or building society account of each member of staff. Caladine Ltd must pay salaries through the BACS system. They cannot be paid by cheque. It will therefore be important to supply account details in order to ensure prompt payment.

Working week: The hours of work for this post are 35 hours per week, excluding meal breaks (these are unpaid), 52 weeks per year and hours of attendance will be from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Monday to Friday, with an hour for lunch.

Holidays: The annual leave entitlement is 25 days (plus bank holidays) and an annual birthday holiday.

Job description

Job Title: Charity Auditor and Accounts Senior

Responsible to: The Directors

Duties:

  1. Shared management of the firm’s audit work.
  2. Review and finalisation of charity accounts and related work.
  3. Oversight and completion of statutory accounts for limited companies and adjusting of corporation tax returns.
  4. Assisting the directors in answering correspondence emails and complex accounts issues.
  5. Proactive support to clients.

Essential:

  • Good understanding of auditing standards
  • Accurate and good working knowledge of accounting software packages
  • Good IT skills able to deal with in-house problems of clients’ needs
  • Driving licence and access to car 
  • Qualified ACA/ACCA with a minimum 3 years practice experience
  • Ability to prepare financial statements for small and medium sized enterprises, to include the not-for-profit sector – Charities

Communication:

  • Clear, concise, timely and appropriate oral and written communication; can communicate information in an understandable way orally and in writing, as suitable to the situation

Self-motivation:

  • Meets objectives and standards on own initiative

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm

Job type: Full time, permanent

Location: Eastbourne, East Sussex (remote working considered for one or two days a week)

Salary: £35,000-£45,000 per annum
